Catherine Neville

Catherine Neville’s music has been performed and commissioned by ensembles and solo artists alike: from solo violin in San Diego to toy piano in Boston, to The Heavy Metal Trio of the University of Central Oklahoma and Ictus Novus, electric guitar and percussion duo of New York. Her debut album, Hold Your Center, exploring themes of self-discovery, was released in May of 2022 on all streaming platforms. Neville’s music has been spotlighted in The Cello Museum and the Flute Examiner.

A clarinetist, Mrs. Neville has performed with several chamber and orchestral ensembles in the New York City area and as a solo recitalist in venues across Long Island. She was a contributing editor to Serve the Music, a book of modern technique for clarinet, with Lawrence Sobol in 2010. As a music educator, Mrs. Neville teaches Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Music Theory courses for high school students.

Neville graduated from the Aaron Copland School of Music in Queens, NY, in 2022 (MS, composition), where she studied with Jeff Nichols. Also, in 2022, Queens College granted Neville the “Hugo Weisgall Award for Music Theory and Composition." An alumna of Interlochen Arts Academy, Neville holds degrees from Hofstra University (MS music education, 2001) and the State University of New York at Stony Brook (BA music performance, 1999).
