David Picton's Latest Latin Jazz Composition

Thursday, September 29, 2011 8:40 PM

David Picton writes:

One of my latest latin/jazz compositions,"Bicycle Ride" (afro/cuban style) will be performed this Saturday, October 1st, at 2:30, as part of the American Music Festival, held in Sag Harbor, Long Island. This performance is FREE.

The performers are oboist Keve Wilson and pianist Mamiko Kituara, who is Monica Mancini's pianist. Mamiko and Ms. Mancini will be headlining the Festival at 8PM September 30th, as a tribute to Henri Mancini. Randy Brecker is also performing at this Festival.
Keve and Mamiko will be playing music by Henri Mancini, Astor Piazzolla, and Cole Porter, as well as myself.

*** Unfortunately, I will not be present for this event. When the opportunity came up for me to have my piece played in it, I had already had another gig booked.
But Picton's song "Bicycles" will indeed be performed, so go if you can, and enjoy yourselves. If you've ever been to Sag Harbor, you'll know it's a beautiful little sea town out in the Hamptons, all the way at the south/eastern end of Long Island. What could beat that?

Besides... I'll be expecting a report from each and every one of you!
